One-Time Password and its Advantages

A One-Time Password (OTP) is temporary and valid for a single, exclusive connection to the system. The password is customized and preset to be valid for 30–60 seconds only.

This stands in complete contrast to traditional passwords, which are permanent, reusable, and susceptible to theft for malicious purposes. Countless cyberattacks are rooted in password theft, leading to unauthorized access to sensitive corporate information.

In addition to the One-Time Password mechanism, Comsign's password generator also incorporates a Multi-Factor Authentication protection mechanism.

Authentication with 2 or more factors adds additional layers of protection, significantly enhancing organizational information security and safeguarding sensitive organizational information.

Access requires multiple components instead of just a password:

• A unique physical hardware component
• A unique code to access the interface
• A temporary and one-time password

The password generator includes:

• Physical hardware component (Hard Token): a small device displaying the One-Time Password on the screen.
• Software (Soft Token): an application generating the one-time password. Available for download on Google Play and the App Store.

The One-Time Password is presented to the user in one of the following ways:

• Voice message (IVR): a phone call that reads the password
• SMS message
• Displayed on the physical hardware component
• Displayed in the app

How does it work?

• Enter a unique code to access the OTP interface
• A one-time password is generated for 30–60 seconds
